As of today...I am OVER 36 weeks!

And we are getting uncomfortable...not just me, my little boy who is completely squished in my ribs right now. I used to feel lots of movement and now I just feel a little elbow jabs and knees that can't move around much anymore. I feel so bad but I don't know what I can do...he should just come out!

Okay...

Last night = worst night of my life.

I hate these things...

We were both so tired last night...so tired, that McKay feel asleep while I was washing my face before bed. Right when I got in bed and closed my eyes, I heard the most ANNOYING sound outside my window, the sound of a cricket. I tried to tell myself that it was a sound of nature, but there was no way that I could fall asleep with it. It was seriously obnoxious. It sounded like it was sitting on our window being as loud as it could. I woke up McKay (which was really mean) and asked if he could hear it and he told me that I should just enjoy it...haha, but then he couldn't fall asleep. Finally, I put on my bathrobe and went outside with a shoe so I could kill it. When I got out there, it stopped so I just threw rocks because I thought that would scare it ( I was a little bit delirious). Anyways, right when I got back inside in our bed, it started again, so I slept on the couch. McKay fell asleep holding the pillow around his head. It was a horrible night and today we both fell asleep at school.

Glazed Doughnut Muffins

Today we had such a nice, relaxing Saturday. We were planning on going to Jackson Hole, but decided to go next weekend for the 4th since we are stuck in (or close to) Rexburg since the baby is coming so soon!

Anyways, it has been a great day. I have been looking on Pinterest a lot today and found this recipe...it looked SO good...and McKay really wanted me to make them, so I did! They taste just as good as they look...or better! AND, super easy. AND you probably already have these ingredients in your kitchen.

For the Muffins:

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk

For the Glaze:

3 tablespoons butter; melted
1 cup confectioners’ sugar; sifted
3/4 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons hot water

Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Line 12 muffin cups with muffin liners or spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together butter, vegetable oil, and sugars till smooth. Beat in eggs, one at a time. With the mixer on low speed, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and vanilla until just combined. Stir the flour into the butter mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the flour and making sure everything is thoroughly combined.
  3. Spoon batter into cups, filling the cups, and smooth tops. Divide batter equally among prepared muffin cups. Bake until muffin tops are a pale golden and springy to the touch, 15 to 17 minutes, rotating halfway through baking time. Cool muffins in muffin tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack and cool 10 minutes before glazing.
  4. To make the glaze, In a medium bowl mix together the melted butter, confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and water. Whisk until smooth.
  5. When muffins have cooled slightly, dip the muffin crown into the glaze and allow the glaze to harden. Once hardened, dip a second time  and allow to harden then serve.

Time is going SLOW...we have 4.5 more weeks here. I know that every post, I mention how excited I am for the end of July...but I am REALLY excited for the end of July.

Today was a stressful day. First of all...McKay and I have class at 9:45 and leave by 9:30. We woke up at 9:21. Second of all, I came home from school a little grumpy, charged my iPod while cleaning the apartment and then left to go lay out in our 80ish-degree weather. I was really excited to lay out after having so many months of being sick, pale and feeling gross. I didn't realize how fast pregnant-skin burns. Oh my gosh...I am FRIED. We have no aloe vera and I made McKay go to the grocery store twice today, so I didn't want to make him go a third time to get me aloe. I have been rubbing lotion on myself all night...does that help? I have no idea.

Right now it is 12:42 and I am really tired...but I can't fall asleep without McKay and he is busy finishing Harry Potter. I really love it when he reads though so I don't care. I am just sitting with my burn in our 75-degree apartment, pregnant, with no air-conditioning. :)

I am so happy right now though because we scheduled an AMAZING photographer for newborn pictures. I didn't realize that you have to schedule appointments two months out- this girl was full, but I begged her to squeeze us in and she agreed! I was so relieved!

Anyways, this was kind of a rambling post...but I feel like talking and I think McKay moved into the other room so I would stop talking to him...haha

Goodnight! :)

SOOO close to being done with school! Graduation is next month on the twenty-second. We are so excited! Right now, I am sitting at school waiting for McKay to be done with work so I thought I would do a little update. (The pregnancy picture is not the best of me...but you can see the tummy!)

#1. Baby is coming in only FIVE WEEKS (or less). I can't believe it. He is really moving now. Most people who see me say that I don't look thirty-five weeks, but I definitely am feeling like it. Today we had to walk up a hill and McKay said we were walking "like sloths," haha well...that is how I feel! I have never had so little energy in my life. The biggest challenge for me is making dinner. Right now we are making our food "stretch" as long as we can this week so we don't have to spend as much on groceries. This is great for me, because all I want to eat are sandwiches and toast and walking around the grocery store takes my energy of the entire day. McKay is definitely being a trooper. I am really, really LUCKY. Today McKay and I were sitting in devotional and I kept being jolted by little knees (or elbows) to my ribs. I still can't tell what anything is. The baby gets the hiccups every day- at least once a day and usually more than once. It is the cutest thing. I keep thinking about holding him and looking at his tiny hands and feet. I am always amazed at how tiny the hands and feet of newborns are. I have taken out his clothes and re-folded them so many times. I just can't wait for him to get here...

#2. I can't believe we are moving out of Rexburg soon. It seems like since we have been married, I haven't been able to wait until we could move, but I am starting to get kind of sad. This is where McKay and I met and had our first home! The end of next month is going to be so exciting/CRAZY. McKay graduates on the 22nd and the baby is due on the 25th. Luckily, family will be here and will be such a big help. As sad as leaving Rexburg will be, I CAN'T WAIT until we are in Washington. There are so many fun things I want to do with McKay there and I am so happy that I will finally get to be near my family. We can't wait for Chad and Jared's games and to watch Lexi and Laci grow up. It will be so much fun to be in a family ward too. Our ward here has been great but I miss being in a ward with a Primary!

#3. I really need cute nursery ideas! I have been looking for months and months and have found nothing that I like. I am a little picky with baby stuff- I don't like anything with little animals on it and so finding things for our baby boy is hard! I think I am going to do the nursery in all really textured things. We have this beautiful crib... and almost no bedding! (I will make this crib "boy-ish")...even McKay believes me.

Also, I am OBSESSED with Ralph Lauren baby clothes. I have a wish list on the website. I know..."wish." Haha. If anyone is looking for cute baby boy clothes...you should look at Ralph Lauren. My two favorite places so far are Baby Gap and that website...let me know if anyone knows of any other cute ones!

THANK YOU MOM AND DAD WALKER!
We got our cute pack and play!

Last weekend, Mckay's family came up and took us to Toys R' Us to find a pack and play for the baby! We have been wanting on of these so bad and were so excited that they offered to get us one. WE couldn't find the one we wanted there, so we searched online until we found what we wanted and McKay's parents ordered it for us. Since we are moving to Washington about a week after our little boy is born, we aren't setting up a crib here. This will be a perfect little bed for the first week. We were so excited to set it up and McKay put it in our room just so we could see what it would be like. I forgot that he had put it in there and walked in our room to get something and was SO excited to see this little crib by our bed. We are so excited for five more weeks from now. Thanks again mom and dad Walker!

WE'RE GETTING BIGGER!

K I know...gross angle...but I had to show it.

SEVEN WEEKS! SEVEN WEEKS! SEVEN WEEKS!

TIme is going by fast....only SEVEN weeks left! I know people who have birthed twins will roll their eyes at this comment, but seriously...I am so uncomfortable. I feel ginormous and I still have almost two months to go. I am always telling McKay that I know I don't look big enough for how dramatic I am being, but standing up really is a challenge. I am still loving pregnancy at this stage! Whoever said that the second trimester is the best is so wrong. I was still puking and not showing. THE THIRD TRIMESTER IS THE BEST. Girls at church are just starting to say "Oh my gosh... you are pregnant?!"...haha.

McKay and I are NOT doing good with preparation. So far, our baby has enough clothes to last him until he is about 18 months...and no car seat, no crib, no diaper wipes (we do have diapers) and pretty much nothing else. We are going to buy stuff this week so I am really excited! Oh...and he has baby lotion. My grandma got it so that her and my mom could smell it for the nine months they are waiting for him to get here...

I am still refusing to wear maternity clothes. Two doctors have laughed at my rubber band holding my non-maternity pants up. As you can see from the picture...my shirts are starting to look a little white trash with my stomach coming out the bottom!

And...SCHOOL IS ALMOST OVER! Poor McKay...this semester has been rough for him. I have never heard of so much homework. I definitely look up to my hard-working husband who is doing school and work and about eight hours of homework a day.

I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL WE ARE IN WASHINGTON.

I know when we leave Rexburg, I am probably going to cry. This is where McKay and I met, dated, were engaged, had our first home and so many other memories...but I have lived here for about three years...it's enough. And I miss my friends. All my friends are gone and have moved on from here...except me. haha

It is starting to get sunny here which makes me so excited. I actually love Rexburg in the summer. This is my favorite part about the summer here:

McKay takes me to get these a lot.
