and I'm talking about McKay...not Jax.
McKay found a kitten on Craigslist that he wants. It's the "cutest kitten in the world." Almost exactly one year ago, we got our first cat. McKay named it Benjals. Benjals peed on our carpet four times and made our bathroom smell like a litter box, so I gave him to a family from church. I grew up with lots and lots of animals. My parents let us get kittens, dogs, birds, hamsters, lizards, etc. McKay grew up in a family with no pets. When we got married, I said that I wanted to get a kitten someday- and he thought that cats were disgusting. Now, we have flip-flopped. I don't want a cat. I just feel like it's another thing to clean up after and take care of. McKay wants a kitten. So bad. He looks on Craigslist and gets so depressed. He told me, "I want to get a kitten and I want you to take care of it." That's exactly what he said.
This is the kitten he wants:
Today on his lunch break, McKay said, "I thought you were going to surprise me with the kitten."
He also rubbed my belly recently, and said this to me: "We are building an army against you."
This seriously cracks me up! I hate cats, but kittens are pretty cute! I am with you though... just another thing to take care of and clean up after! Not. Worth. It.
ReplyDeleteHahaha! This post is hilarious. I am NOT a cat person. All the pee and hair...blehh. Stay strong.
ReplyDeleteHahaha. This made me laugh. I say get the cat. If they're young you can train them super easy. Don't let them out of the laundry room (or a room with tile) unless you're holding them until you can trust them. Other then that you just feed them once a day and pet them whenever their little hearts desire. ;)
ReplyDeleteAs much fun as cats are, as a pregnant lady, you should definitely not get a cat. Cats carry a parasite called Toxoplasma gondii. I believe you can catch it buy cleaning their litter box. I mean you could get a cat, but your husband would have to clean up after it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute little kitty! But then it will grow up to be a cat, and I will no longer like it. :) Also, ditto to Anonymous above. The parasite can cause birth defects, so definitely don't get a cat while you're pregnant!
ReplyDeleteBahaha he tried to convince me to convince you the other day. Little did he know I'm anti cat also. I vote no. We got a dog, and while I love watching him and Jackson interact, I HATE having to worry about putting him out and going potty in the house. You're right, it's just another thing to clean up after
ReplyDeleteI remember the Pexton house always being chalk full with animals. One reason why I loved it there. And I'm part of that army that McKay is building against you. Get a kitten.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I would do: go to Target or Toys R Us and get one of those stuffed animal (moving / interactive pets) cat for McKay so he can take care of it when he is home and you can turn it off while he is gone! Let him know you have a surprise for him and record it (haha)! Hahaha he is funny!
