The Most Boring Update Ever :)

Right now my cute husband is mowing the lawn…and I am bored (he will not let me help him) so I thought I would do a little blog update…

We are still living in Washington…working-working-working! Every day, McKay has to get up at 5:30 and work. It feels like the days all roll into one! Wake up…go to work…come home…be exhausted…go to bed. I remember talking about married life while we were dating and being so excited to not have to leave each other at twelve. Well…I think we saw each other more then, because now we go to bed at ten and we LOVE it! :)

There is nothing THAT exciting happening as of now. We are just counting down the days until we can be in our little apartment in Rexy! We never thought we would miss Rexburg as much as we do right now. We CAN’T WAIT to go back!

We got a cute kitchen table and now we are looking for a couch! Also, I need some good recipe ideas. Send me some if you have any yummy, cheap, kinda-easy recipes! McKay is so sweet and SO patient with my cooking abilities.

Other than that, there is nothing new. We are busy and tired...but loving life! I still wake up every day thinking...How in the world did I get this lucky? I honestly do think I am the luckiest girl in the whole entire world. McKay is the sweetest, cutest, most loving, patient and hard working person I have ever known! I can't wait to be back at school in our little home! :)

  1. When we were dating, Stevie cooked this for me. It's pretty much why I married him.

DUTCH BABIES (German Pancake) Serves 2.

Melt 2 T margarine or butter in glass pie pan in a 350 degree oven. (Do this while you prepare the batter and keep it hot in the oven.)

Meanwhile, mix together, getting out most of the lumps:
    3 eggs
    1/2 C flour
    1/2 C milk
    3 shakes cinnamon
    1 shake nutmeg
    1 t vanilla

Pour into hot pan of melted butter and cook at 350F for 17 minutes. Serve immediately. Top with powdered sugar, fresh fruit, jam or whatever else you like. Guaranteed to insure marital bliss for a minimum of 36 years. Yummy!

    With best wishes from Chris

  2. Ali, I remember when Brian and I were first married. Just like you, I was aiming to be the PERFECT CHEF. I would labor on (what I thought were) Fabulous Gourmet Meals. He'd snarf them down in nothing flat, and then pop a giant bowl of popcorn and eat the whole thing. I was so offended!!! ;)

But you now have the greatest excuse to watch Food Network and surf the web for recipes all day! We all love Sandra Lee and her fabulous Tablescapes!

Chris, if Brian had cooked ANYTHING for me while we were dating, I would have TOTALLY married him. Oh wait... lol
