A Little Tiny Bump

Just to clarify, there is a little bump...but even more evident, a WHOLELOTTA mass in my middle section. Just to be completely real (and for the sake of documenting), I have already gained ten pounds. TEN POUNDS. What in the world! Is this normal? With Jax, no one really noticed I was pregnant until I was about 30 weeks. With this baby...BAM!- boobs, love handles, and double-the-average poundage gain. I read online that at 14 weeks, it is normal to have gained about five pounds. wonderfullllllll. Anyone know any good pregnancy exercises? And without fail, every time I see my great-grandma, she states, "Well, it could be twins!" Grandma, it's not. The doctor LOOKED.

My brother came home from church on Sunday and asked what was with the pregnant people wearing a belt right above their belly. "It looks so freaking weird," is what I think he said. To which my mom responded, "Yeahh, all the young girls are doing it." But I kind of like it! It makes me feel more pregnant and accentuated. This pregnancy, I am wearing my normal clothes for as long as possible. I am boycotting maternity clothes. I have found throughout my life that my grandma is rarely wrong about statements that begin with her saying "Okay...but later you will wish you...(fill in the blank)"...but the two things she has been wrong about are (1) college clothes and (2) maternity clothes.

(1) "You don't need to buy a bunch of cute clothes for college. You are going to be studying all the time and living in sweats and comfortable clothes and it is cold in Idaho, so you will just want sweatshirts."

Wrong. Because you have to attract a husband. And some people...umm..don't study.

(2) "You need to buy maternity clothes that are seventeen sizes too big. You are going to gain weight and EVEN your back will widen to prepare for the milk glands. No Ali, that grey blazer WILL NOT fit in a couple of months."

Because of this advice, my maternity clothes were still about two sizes too big for me at 40 weeks, (andddd.... the blazer fit). But then again, at the rate we're going, me and grandma might be one for one on this one.

  2. I had some people ask about the belt, but I think it's cute and does give some definition, especially in non-maternity clothes that don't follow your new shape. You look adorable!

Or go on walks with Jax, pushing him in the stroller would be a good workout. ORRRR visit Idaho and go on walks with Joony and I, duh.

  8. You look adorable!! I want those shoes!! Maternity clothes run huge most places, but when you find some that fit, maternity jeans are soooo comfy! They might not make them small enough for you though, Mrs. teeny!! Loving the tiny bump!!

  13. Your belly popped out because its baby #2! My mom calls it muscle memory, but it always seemed a little too soft for me to call muscle! And don't worry about the weight gain. You are a mama now, you eat with Jax...which probably means your eating all the time. Did the same thing on my second baby!
