At the Beach Yesterday

Last week, I finally made a bunch of new headbands. I really do not like to sew. I am trying to hard to like it, but I just don't. The minutes seem like hours and I have to listen to Taylor Swift and One Direction to distract me from the boredom and I am just bored. I mean, I really want to like it. But I don't. Maybe someday when I have a baby girl or something. Actually, the thing I hate the most is not sewing. It's rolling the tiny flowers and unraveling them and rolling them over again because they are such a pain to make. But none of my new ones have flowers! Just bows!
okay, that's the end of that.
Yesterday, I thought I would kill two birds with one stone. I wanted to practice with the camera, and take some photos of my little sisters in the headbands. We got to the beach at about five- so the sun was setting, but it was still so pretty. I am still learning how to take pictures in the sun.
Before we had gone to the beach, I bribed my sisters with a "treat." They decided that they wanted to go to Coldstone. It was like 15 minutes away. They wanted "milkshakes" and I was so tempted to be like  you guys, let's just go to Jack in the Box and get milkshakes! (because it was way closer). But I thought to myself no Ali, you want to be a fun sister, so then I said, Okay! We can go to Coldstone!
So then we drove to Coldstone...and whatdoyaknow, it was closed down! So guess which one of Coldstone's still-in-buisesness neighbors we went to? Jack in the Box.
When we pulled up to menu, there was a man taking our order, but when we pulled up to the window, there was a person with a ponytail. My little sister was very confused and asked, "Ali...is that a guy or a girl?" And I said, That is a guy, and he has a ponytail!
Then I was thinking...and I really started hoping he didn't hear me and get offended. I tried to say it in the most jovial, non-judgemental way possible. But I still watched him, because I was worried he would spit in our milkshakes. He took them around a corner for a second, but I don't think he did, because he very happily handed them to us! Then we took our treats and I took them home.
And that was yesterday.

  2. your headbands are the cutest. my niece's birthday is coming up, i'm going to need to remember your store at that time!
also, it's funny when kids get confused on the person's gender. i've had a couple of instances where i know my kids want to ask out loud at the store or somewhere else, and i just have to give them THAT look to keep their mouths closed! lol.

  6. Haha! I'm sure the ponytailed man didn't spit in your milkshakes. Kids say the darndest things sometimes, and I'll bet he understood that. :)

PS - Maybe you could find a new hobby that you enjoy? The headbands are beautiful, but it seems such a shame to be spending your time on something that you don't like doing!

  8. Haha, I prefer Wendy's for my milkshakes. I didn't even know Coldstone offered them.
