First of all, I have a dang cute husband. There is a story behind this picture...

For about the last month, I have had pregnancy insomnia. I don't know if that's even an actual medical term, but my body will literally not fall asleep before 5am. That's a picture of my poor husband who is asleep on our family room floor at 1:50am because I haven't gone to bed yet.

Before I was pregnant, I never had problems sleeping. About my third week of pregnancy (and sporadically after that) I would have nights where I just wouldn't sleep. Lately, it's become a permanent thing. I've had lots of nights laying awake in bed and seeing the sun fill our room in the morning, still having not fallen asleep. I have tried everything safe for the baby like Unisom, Tylenol PM, Benadryl...NOTHING works. The doctor said my next step is Ambien...which is a "C" class medicine (this means that it hasn't been proven that it is unsafe for the baby, but isn't completely known to be safe). With that kind of a rating, Ambien is getting no where near my baby. The only thing that really stinks is that I am still having pregnancy sickness and not sleeping makes it ten times worse.

One thing I LOVE about being up all night is the one person who always stays up with me...our little baby boy. He is constantly kicking at night! Usually at night while McKay is sleeping I just lay next to him and feel our little guy moving around. It's special mommy and baby time...even if it is at 2am! :)

I look at McKay every day and feel bad that I can't be a normal, fun wife right now. I couldn't ask for a better husband though because of course, he is sweet and perfect as usual! He even tells me I look "beautiful" several times a day...and that is hard to say to a wife who wears makeup about once every two weeks and lets her hair just dry wet after she showers. I am not myself lately. I'm a lucky, lucky girl to have the husband I do.

P.S. I have watched The Devil Wears Prada twice tonight.
